April 03, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Dayne D. Dhanoolal, 26, of Brooklyn, New York, died March 31 in Baghdad, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.
