Connecticut Governor Rell’s Committee on Physical Fitness Calls on Residents to Get More Active

“The arrival of spring brings longer days and better weather,” Governor Rell said. “This is a great time for us all to make the changes in our lives that will lead to a healthier Connecticut and a healthier America. Engaging in a physically active lifestyle can benefit people of all ages, so I urge people to meet the President’s Challenge.”
The National President’s Challenge takes physical activity beyond the gym and into everyday life. All Americans aged 6 and older are encouraged to join the Challenge, be active five days a week and log their activity on a personal activity tracker. The National President’s Challenge ends May 15. Participants can register for the Challenge at www.presidentschallenge.org .
The theme for the National President’s Challenge 2008 is “A Healthier Nation: It’s Everyone’s Challenge.” Participants can join as individuals or create a group with friends, family, co-workers and students.
