Disney Channel Orders Third Seasons of Hit Series "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "My Friends Tigger & Pooh"
BURBANK, March 31, 2008 – Disney Channel has ordered third seasons of the hit preschooler series "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "My Friends Tigger & Pooh." Both series, produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, have been picked up for an additional 35 episodes each. "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" can be seen in 220 million households in over 130 markets worldwide and in more than 20 languages, including Cantonese, Thai, Hindi, Finnish and Arabic. The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President, Playhouse Disney Worldwide.
"'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' and 'My Friends Tigger & Pooh' have captivated preschoolers and their parents around the globe," said Kanter. "Both have proven to be ratings winners from day one, and we are looking forward to successful third seasons filled with more exciting Clubhouse and Hundred Acre Wood adventures with Mickey, Pooh and all the gang."
Since its May 2006 debut, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" has consistently ranked among the top 10 series on basic cable among kids 2-5. For 2008 to-date, it ranks in the top 5 basic cable TV series among Kids 2-5, and ranks #1 with Kids 2-5 in both its weekday and weekend time periods versus all broadcast and basic cable competition. "My Friends Tigger & Pooh," which premiered May 2007, ranked as the #2 new preschool series on broadcast and cable with kids 2-5 for 2007. In January 2008, worldwide, ratings for both shows have also been impressive, ranking "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" #1 in their time periods versus kids' channels or all cable channels, in nine countries for “MMCH” and in six countries for “MFTP.” Additionally, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" is the #1 series for preschoolers on all cable television in Argentina, Chile and Colombia, with "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" placing in the #2 spot. "My Friends Tigger & Pooh is the #1 preschool series on all cable television in Mexico and Denmark.
Combining the rich heritage of Disney's beloved classic characters with state-of-the-art CG animation, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" introduces a whole new generation of preschoolers to Mickey and his pals. Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Daisy all join Mickey in this vibrant interactive series designed to introduce preschoolers to problem solving and early math concepts through contemporary, interactive storytelling.
In addition to Disney's "Sensational Six," original memorable Disney cartoon characters, Clarabelle Cow, Pete the Cat, Professor Von Drake, and Chip and Dale also appear in many episodes.
Beautifully-rendered in CG animation, a first for A.A. Milne's classic characters, "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" reflects the traditional qualities of the original series while introducing a whole new generation of kids to Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore and other favorites, plus Lumpy and new neighbor Darby, who adds a fresh energy that only a fun-loving and very curious six-year-old could bring to the Hundred Acre Woods. Each episode revolves around the solving of a mystery in the Hundred Acre Wood, with the help of Super Sleuths Tigger, Pooh and Darby, and features an interactive curriculum to encourage the youngest viewer to apply "reflective" thinking skills.

Emmy Award-winning director Rob LaDuca (Disney's "Lilo & Stitch: The Series," "Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius," "Tutenstein") is executive producer of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse." Brian Hohlfeld ("Pooh's Heffalump Movie," "Piglet's Big Movie" and "A Very Merry Pooh Year") is executive producer of "My Friends Tigger & Pooh."
