Its detailed analysis of PlaNYC 's recommendations for a greener, greater New York found that they will create tens of thousands of new jobs for New Yorkers in both the short and long-term.
"The capital plans and construction projects envisioned in PlaNYC will create an unprecedented number of new construction jobs - more than half from transportation related projects that will result from congestion pricing revenues. The report found that as PlaNYC projects are completed, they will also generate nearly 12,000 more permanent operations and maintenance jobs in our city. According to the report, the investments included in PlaNYC will, 'Lead to the creation of tens of thousands of additional jobs that will spur new industries and long-term economic development far past 2030.' That's great news for all New Yorkersand our children.
"To ensure we realize all of this job growth, we need to enact congestion pricing and we need to enact our other proposals in PlaNYC . Together, we'll build a greater, greener New York."
