Los Angeles Dodgers, KCAL 9 to Host ThinkCure Mini-Telethon during Coliseum Charity Game
Fans can call 866-554-CURE throughout game on March 29 to make pledges
LOS ANGELES, 03/27/2008 -- The Los Angeles Dodgers and KCAL 9 will host a mini-telethon to benefit ThinkCure in conjunction with the Dodgers' charity game against the Boston Red Sox on March 29 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The telethon will begin at 7:10 p.m. and fans can make pledges to the club's official charity throughout the game by calling 866-554-CURE.
KCAL host John Ireland will report from the telethon, including interviews with former Dodger players who will be on hand to call and thank some fans who donate. KCAL will also show the call-in number and provide telethon updates during the game.
ThinkCure was launched in July 2007 by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the McCourt family, City of Hope, and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. ThinkCure is a charity whose purpose is to raise funds to support cancer research, and whose mission is to find a cure for cancer.
