Historic plaza and monument, renovated Stadium Club and new concession items featured in 2008
CHICAGO, 03/27/2008 -- The Chicago White Sox have a number of new programs and offerings in place for 2008 that will make for a better fan experience at U.S. Cellular Field.
Those new elements include:
* "Champions Plaza"/"Championship Moments Monument": The White Sox will unveil the "Champions Plaza" and "Championship Moments" monument, prior to the game on Friday, April 11. The new brick plaza, located at the ballpark's main entrance at Gate 4, is comprised of "legacy bricks" inscribed with personal messages from fans and features an historic timeline highlighting franchise milestones.
* A New Look to The Stadium Club: The Stadium Club restaurant at U.S. Cellular Field has been completely renovated, with new carpeting, paint, restrooms and wall covering. The multilevel restaurant, which underwent its first renovation since opening, features daily selections of fresh fish, seasonal salads, antipasta station and prime carved meats with a casual bar in the upper level.
* Southpaw's Opening Day: Surprise a White Sox fan with an Opening Day visit from Southpaw, the White Sox mascot. On Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4, Southpaw will visit White Sox fans at home, school or work to celebrate the start of the 2008 season. * Super Dog, BBQ & Peanuts: New concession items have been added to the already diverse menu at U.S. Cellular Field. Those include: a foot-long hot dog, known as the "Super Comiskey." Fans also will enjoy a new BBQ cart offering pulled pork and sliced brisket sandwiches, as well as a hot roasted peanut cart.
* The Chevrolet Junior Pride Crew: Fans between the ages of 8-13 years old can experience a White Sox game on a whole new level by applying to become a Chevrolet Junior Pride Crew member for a day.
