Seattle Mariners 2008 MLB Opening Day Virtually Sold Out
Good seats available for Tuesday and Wednesday games vs. Texas Rangers
03/27/2008 -- The Seattle Mariners 2008 Opening Day game is virtually sold out. If there are any returned tickets, they will immediately become available on mariners.com. Fans looking for Opening Day tickets are encouraged to check the website often.
There are plenty of good seats still available for the two other games in the three-game opening homestand, Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday April 2. Both games start at 7:10pm.
In Tuesday's game, Felix Hernandez is scheduled to make his first start of the season against the Texas Rangers. It is also the annual Boeing Salute to Armed Forces Night, and the first of 13 Tuesday Military Discount Nights. Any current or retired U.S. Military personnel with valid I.D. can purchase tickets for half-price.
Wednesday is the first MasterCard Grand Slam Family Pack Night promotion with significant discounts on packages in three seating categories (View Reserved, Field, and Wells Fargo Terrace Club Outfield). Prices range from $55-$135. Prices include four tickets, four hot dogs and four Pepsi brand soft drinks.
The gates to Safeco Field will open to the public at 1:40pm on Opening Day. Pre-game festivities start at 3pm. Game time is 3:40pm. Dave Niehaus, the Voice of the Mariners, who is being inducted into the broadcaster's wing of the National Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
