Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal Appoints Members to the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission

Mar 19, 2008 -- BATON ROUGE- Today, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced eleven new appointments and four reappointments to the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission. The four reappointments include Alexis Hocevar, of New Orleans, Price Leblanc, Jr., of Metairie, Arthur Tait, of Shreveport, and Cloid White, of Winnsboro.

The Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission regulates and licenses motor vehicle manufacturers, distributers, dealers, and leasers. All members are appointed by the governor and subject to senate confirmation. Ray Brandt will serve as chairman.

Appointments to the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission

Landon Allen, of Kenner, is retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service, four of which in Vietnam. Allen was the recent purchasing director for the city of Kenner.

Mark Boniol, of Lake Charles, has been the president of Mark Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep since 1998. He is also a member of the Southwest Louisiana Community Foundation.

Frank Borne, of Gretna, has worked in the Clerk of Court’s Office in Jefferson Parish since 1994.

Ray Brandt, of Metairie, is currently the chief executive officer of Ray Brandt Automotive Group.

Donna Corley, of Crowley, has been the owner of Shetler Corley Motors, since 1987.

Troy Duhon, of Slidell, has been the owner and operator of Premier Honda and Nissan since 2003, and the owner and operator of Premier Kia since 2004.

Maurice Guidry, of Cut Off, has been an owner and general manager of Golden Motors since 1989. Guidry is a former member of the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission and a member of the National Automobile Dealers Association.

Don Hargroder, of Abbeville, has been the president of Courtesy Automotive Group since 1987. Hargroder worked on dealership councils for Isuzu, Hyundai, and General Motors’ Commercial Truck Division.

Dallas Hixson, of Alexandria, has been the general manager of Hixson Autoplex since 1994.

Alexis Hocevar, of New Orleans, has been the vice president and general manger of Enterprise since 1993.

Joyce LaCour, of Gonzales, has served on community boards including the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, the Ascension Community Theatre, and the Gonzales Cultural Affairs Committee.

Price Leblanc, Jr. of Metairie, has been the president of Price LeBlanc Toyota/Lexus since 1973 and the president of Lexus of New Orleans since 1989. Leblanc is a former member of the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission.

Kent Richards, of Baton Rouge, has been the owner and president of Richard’s Honda since 1986 and has co-owned Hollingsworth Richard’s Group since 1996.

Arthur Tait, of Shreveport, currently owns Tait on Texas and has served on the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission since 1991.

Cloid White, of Winnsboro, is currently the president of White Ford Lincoln-Mercury, L.L.C. Cloid was appointed to the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission in 2003.
