Minnesota Twins Announce Additions to 2008 Promotions Schedule

03/17/2008, MINNEAPOLIS, ST. PAUL, MN -- The Minnesota Twins today announced their 2008 special events, promotions and daily ticket offers including several additions since the original publication in January.

New features on the schedule include a "Sandlot" poster (April 18) courtesy of Star Tribune, a Mother's Day t-shirt (May 11) for the first 10,000 female fans, a Michael Cuddyer growth chart (June 22) from Klement's Sausage, a Twins Territory flag (July 5), a new ballpark construction hard hat (July 6), a Justin Morneau replica jersey (July 20) courtesy of Hormel and a MLB 2K8 Twins stationery set (August 15).

In addition to the new giveaways, bobblehead dolls return to the promotion calendar for the eighth consecutive year. The dolls, courtesy of Northwest Airlines, characterize Ron Gardenhire (May 4), Dan Gladden (June 20), Delmon Young (July 19) and Rick Aguilera (September 6). Other top giveaways include a Michael Cuddyer bat (April 20) presented by Waste Management, a Joe Mauer Rapala fishing lure (May 2), a camouflage Twins cap (June 27) courtesy of Gander Mountain, a mini-Michael Cuddyer wind-up walker (June 28) courtesy of AM 1500 and Great Clips, two bronze statues featuring legends Paul Molitor (June 29) and a Jack Morris (August 1) presented by Pepsi, and a Minnesota Twins New Ballpark "Dirt Shirt" (July 18) presented by Ramsey Excavating.

Special events during the 2008 season include the Minnesota Sesquicentennial Celebration (May 10), the Twins Annual Autograph Party presented by Twin City Co-ops Federal Credit Union and the Twins Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (June 21), Armed Services Appreciation Day (July 5), First Responders Day (August 3), Target Back-to-School Weekend (August 15 - 17) and Fan Appreciation Weekend (September 26 - 28) presented by DQ.

The Twins kick off their 2008 season at home on Monday, March 31 at 6:05 p.m. against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Presented by Target, the Home Opener will begin with the annual Breakfast on the Plaza starting at 6 a.m. followed by a noontime rally and special pregame festivities. In addition, the first 40,000 fans will receive a 2008 magnet schedule courtesy of Target.
