Philadelphia Phillies Announce Inaugural "Fan Vote Bobble Figurine" & Other Featured Giveaways
Moyer unveils first bobble of lengthy Major League career
03/17/2008 -- Philadelphia Phillies players, along with the Phanatic, took part in unveiling several "firsts" in Phillies giveaways during a press event at Bright House Field, prior to the St. Patrick's Day 1:05 p.m. game against the Cleveland Indians. Among the highlights:
Announcement of the inaugural "Toyota Fan Vote Bobble Figurine": For the first time, the Phillies will host an online giveaway Fan Vote - giving fans the chance to vote for the player to be featured as the Toyota Bobble Figurine on Wednesday, August 20, when the Phillies take on the Washington Nationals at 7:05 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. Voting begins Monday, March 17 and runs through April 16 at phillies.com/bobblevote. Fans can choose from one of the following players: Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard, Brad Lidge, Brett Myers, Chase Utley. The player with the most votes will appear on the figurine.
"We felt this was a great way to get the fans involved in the giveaway selection process," said Scott Brandreth, Phillies Director of Merchandise. "Fans often have views on what players we should feature on giveaway items, especially bobbles, and we felt this was a good way to allow them to participate."
After 21 years in the Major Leagues, Jamie Moyer gets a bobble! Pitcher Jamie Moyer proudly displayed his Toyota Jamie Moyer 2007 NL East Champions Bobble Figurine - the first bobble giveaway in his likeness during his Major League career. The collectible will be given away April 30 vs. San Diego and will be free for all fans in attendance. The new bobble figurine features Moyer delivering a pitch during the September 30 National League East clincher and includes the Phillies NL East Champions logo on the base.
Turkey Hill Kid's Jimmy Rollins MVP Baseball & Collectible Tin: Shortstop Jimmy Rollins showed off his MVP Baseball & Collectible Tin that will be given away on April 12 as part of Turkey Hill Kid's Opening Night. All kids 14 & under will receive this MVP Collectible.
