J.R. Towles to Be Guest on Astroline Tuesday, March 18
Houston Astros off-season, call-in radio show broadcast live from Disney's ESPN Club
03/17/2008, HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros announced today that catcher J.R. Towles will be the guest on the club's popular Astroline off-season, call-in radio show tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18, at 7:00 p.m. CT. Hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton, Astroline airs on the club's flagship station, KTRH 740 AM, and on the Internet at Astros.com. During the remainder of Spring Training, the show will be broadcast live from the ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk in Orlando, Fla. (live from ESPN Club at 8 p.m. ET).
J.R. Towles, 24, hit .375 (15-for-40) with a home run, five doubles and 12 RBI in 14 games with Houston in 2007. He made his Major League debut on Sept. 5, 2007, and in his sixth career game on Sept. 20, 2007 at St. Louis, he set a franchise record with eight RBI, becoming the fastest player to have an eight-RBI game.
Astroline is in the final weeks of a five-month run leading into the 2008 Major League Baseball season. Fans can either attend the show in person at the ESPN Club or call-in to the Astros flagship station at (713) 212-KTRH (713-212-5874). The show has relocated to Florida as the Astros prepare for their upcoming season at their Spring Training complex in Kissimmee.
Astroline features interviews, news, and information on the team. The program features a different guest each week, including Astros owner Drayton McLane, General Manager Ed Wade, Manager Cecil Cooper, players, and front office personnel.
