Oakland A's Announce Four Roster Moves
03/16/2008, PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Oakland A's on Sunday optioned pitchers Jerry Blevins and Henry Rodriguez to Triple-A Sacramento and reassigned non-roster invitee pitcher Kirk Saarloos and catcher Matt LeCroy to their Minor League camp.
The Oakland A's now have a total of 38 players in camp, which includes 32 players on the 40-man roster and six non-roster invitees. The breakdown includes 17 pitchers, three catchers, 10 infielders and eight outfielders.
The Oakland A's may take 30 players on the trip to Japan. The 40-man roster must be reduced to 28 players by March 25 but only 25 players can be active for the two regular season games against the Boston Red Sox on March 25 and 26.
