Ken Ehrlich Returns as Executive Producer of 60th Primetime Emmy Awards Airing Live Sunday, September 21 on ABC
Nominations for 60th Primetime Emmy Awards coming July 17, 2008
North Hollywood, CA, March 17, 2008 – Veteran television producer Ken Ehrlich (“The Grammy Awards”) will return as Executive Producer of the “60th Primetime Emmy® Awards” for the fourth consecutive year, it was announced today. The Primetime Emmys will be broadcast live SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.
“We are thrilled to have the Primetime Emmys back on ABC this year, and know Ken will bring us a terrific show,” said Vicki Dummer, Senior Vice President, Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night, ABC Entertainment.
"Ken is a creative producer with a deep love of television and we are glad and honored to have him back," said John Shaffner, Chairman and CEO, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
“We are thrilled to be able to produce this Emmy show which will help celebrate the Television Academy’s 60th anniversary, and have a number of surprises in work that will certainly make this a memorable Emmy broadcast. Doing the event from the new Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live provides an opportunity to give the show a new and fresh look, and we are already hard at work with our designers to accomplish that and more,” added Ehrlich.
Nominations Coming in July
Nominations for the “60th Primetime Emmy Awards” will be announced Thursday, July 17, at 5:35 a.m. PT from the Television Academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.
About Ken Ehrlich
Ehrlich, who most recently executive produced “The 50th Annual Grammy Awards,” is one of the industry’s most accomplished producers of specials, concerts and notable live events. He has produced 28 Grammy Award telecasts, created and produced the “MTV Movie Awards” and the “DIVAS” series of music specials.
He has also produced music specials for artists including Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Elton John, Shania Twain, Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton and many others. Among his other series credits include “FAME,” “The Dennis Miller Show,” “Women Rock; Girls and Guitars” and “Motown Live.”
Other credits include “The Sports Illustrated Twentieth Century Sports Awards,” “Genius: A Night for Ray Charles,” “LIVE8,” several Latin Grammy and Blockbuster Award shows, and hundreds of hours of specials over a 30 plus year career.
