Washington Nationals Launch "You Make the Call" Promotion
03/12/2008 -- The Washington Nationals today announced the launch of their "You Make the Call" promotion, as part of their effort to "Welcome Home" fans to Nationals Park. This promotion will provide Nationals fans a unique opportunity to choose the music they want to hear at Nationals Park and help to establish new music traditions of their own. Through an online voting system, fans may select the song the team plays after a Nationals Home Run, during the Seventh Inning Stretch (immediately following baseball's traditional "Take Me Out To The Ballgame") and after a Nationals victory.
The "You Make The Call" promotion will run from Thursday, March 13 at 9:00am through Wednesday March 26 at 5:00pm. Fans may choose from a selection of songs, including "Because We Can" by Fat Boy Slim or "Song 2 (Woo Hoo)" by Blur for the Home Run song, and "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations or "Shout" from Otis Day and the Knights for the Seventh Inning Stretch. Choices for the Nationals Victory Song include "Beautiful Day" by U2 and "How Do You Like Me Now" by Toby Keith. For a full listing of songs, and to cast a vote, fans may visit nationals.com/youmakethecall. The winning songs will be posted on nationals.com and e-mailed to all registered Nationals "Insiders" once voting is complete.
The Nationals kick off their 2008 season at Nationals Park with their home opener on Sunday, March 30 at 8:05pm vs. the Atlanta Braves, broadcast nationally on ESPN. Season Ticket packages may be purchased by calling 202-675-NATS (6287) or going online at nationals.com. Individual game tickets may be purchased by calling 888-632-NATS (6287) or via nationals.com.
