Jetix Envirolympics Challenges Kids to Become Eco Heroes in PSA Campaign Premiering in April
Viewers Invited to Participate in Online Challenges and Sweepstakes Online To Win Trip to X Games
BURBANK, March 11, 2008 -- In celebration of Earth Day, Jetix, the action, adventure and comedy block on Toon Disney, will debut "EnvirOlympics" PSA messages that challenge kids to become eco-heroes and provide them a chance to win a trip to the X Games. The PSAs begin airing SUNDAY, APRIL 6 and will be presented every Sunday throughout the month (6:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) and on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22.
The "EnvirOlympics" will feature "green" sporting events including 'The 100 Meter Trash,' 'Tree Planting Shot Put,' 'Recycling Cycling,' 'Low Watt Light Bulb Changing High Jump' and 'Water Conservation High Dive.' Competitors will be favorite Toon and Jetix characters competing in them, including Yin, Yang, Master Yo, Kronk, Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable, Jake Long, Lilo, Stitch and Gantu.
Throughout the month at the start of all programming, "Weekly Green Facts" will show young viewers how they too can be an eco-hero and help the Earth.
Beginning April 1, at Jetix.tv/green, kids can play in a series of environmentally-themed athletic events and enter a sweepstakes by answering "green" questions for a chance to win prizes including X Games Moto X bikes with safety gear and trips to X Games 14, the Greenest X Games ever.
In the U.S., Jetix programming block is seen on Toon Disney, an advertiser supported channel available in over 687 million homes. Internationally, Jetix programming is seen on 18 Jetix channels in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Jetix is part of the Disney-ABC Television Group at The Walt Disney Company.
