Cleveland Indians Reduce Roster for First Time this Spring
03/10/2008, CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has reduced their spring training roster by five players.
This morning the Cleveland Indians optioned right-handed pitcher Adam Mikker and left-handed pitcher Reid Santos to AAA Buffalo and optioned infielder Michael Aubrey and left-handed pitcher Scott Lewis to AA Akron. The club also reassigned left-handed pitcher Chuck Lofgren to minor league camp.
Currently there are 56 players in Major League camp in Winter Haven, FL. The Cleveland Indians take on the Tampa Bay Rays today in St. Pete at 1:05 PM ET with right-handed pitcher Paul Byrd on the hill.
