Washington Nationals Sell 40,000 Individual Game Tickets for the 2008 Inaugural Season at National Park
03/05/2008 -- The Washington Nationals today announced that almost 40,000 tickets were sold to individual regular season games and Opening Day for the 2008 season. This total is four times the amount of tickets sold last year (10,000) when individual tickets were first made available in 2007. Tickets went on sale yesterday, Tuesday, March 4 at 9:00 a.m. and were purchased via telephone and the Internet at nationals.com.
Opening Day tickets sold out within minutes as over 4,000 tickets to the season opener were available to the public. The Nationals open their regular season at the new Nationals Park when they host the Atlanta Braves in a nationally televised contest (ESPN) on Sunday, March 30 at 8:05 p.m. Tickets to Opening Day are still available with the purchase of Full Season Ticket packages (81-game) and Half Season Ticket packages (41-game).
