DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Sgt. Corey E. Spates, 21, of LaGrange, Georgia
February 14, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Corey E. Spates, 21, of LaGrange, Georgia, died Feb. 10 in Diyala Province, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
