02/12/2008, KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals have announced the club's calendar of Promotions and Special Events for the 2008 season. The team will continue to build on its "New. Blue. Tradition." starting with the return of the Royals popular powder blue uniform to be worn for the first time in franchise history at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, April 12 against the Minnesota Twins at 6:10 p.m.. The first 20,000 fans will receive their own Billy Butler No. 16 Powder Blue Jersey Replica presented by FOX Sports Net Kansas City.

"Baseball Night in Kansas City" - Every Saturday
Every Saturday home game is "Baseball Night in Kansas City" featuring a schedule of the best promotional items in Major League Baseball. From jerseys and caps to stadium blankets, umbrellas and more, Royals Fans can plan for both fun at the ballpark and something extra EVERY SATURDAY at "The K."

Returning Kauffman Stadium Favorites
Many traditional Royals fan favorites are also back for 2008 including eight Dodge Buck Nights, six Autograph Afternoons, 13 Hy-Vee Fireworks Fridays, Sprint Fun Runs and Bob Evans Friends & Family Days. Royals fans 14 years old and under can also sign up for the 2008 Blue Crew Youth Fan Club presented by Dick's Sporting Goods at the club's web site, royals.com

T-Shirt Tuesdays Return
T-Shirt Tuesdays return for a third season. One Tuesday each month of the season, the first 20,000 fans will receive a free Royals T-Shirt. Collect all six designs including Kauffman Stadium's Hot Dog Derby Tees presented by Hy-Vee (May 27) and a special Frank White Powder Blue Tee (July 22)!

COLLECTOR'S EDITION - Royals Bobbleheads Past & Present presented by Dodge
The Royals Hall of Fame Bobblehead Series continues with salutes to three more Kansas City legends-John Mayberry (May 31), Dan Quisenberry (July 26) and Larry Gura (Aug. 9). Dodge will also help celebrate current Royals fan favorites with two more Bobblehead Nights-Alex Gordon (June 21) and Tony Pena, Jr. (Sept. 6).

HATS OFF WEEKEND II - July 11-13
The Royals will tip their caps to the first 20,000 fans with free hat-wear items on back-to-back-to-back games in July. It starts Friday night with Royals Cowboy Hats from AT&T (July 11), then a Saturday night "Christmas in July" celebration with Santa Caps from MLB 2K8 (July 12) followed by Royals Golf Visors on Sunday afternoon (July 13)!

SPECIAL EVENTS - Girls' Night Out, Viva Los Royals and more...
After the tremendous response to "Girls' Night Out" last season, plans are even bigger for 2008's event (July 24) when the first 20,000 ladies will receive an exclusive pink rhinestone Royals Cap. VIP packages are currently available on royals.com/girlsnightout with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association. Plus "Viva Los Royals"-a Hispanic Heritage celebration-will return for a second big year (Sept. 6) along with the Royals Annual Salute to the Negro Leagues (June 22), Military Appreciation Night (Aug. 2) and more. Ticket Availability
Individual game tickets for the 2008 Royals home schedule go on sale Saturday, March 8 at 9 a.m. Tickets will be available on-line at royals.com, by phone at 1-800-6ROYALS, at the Kauffman Stadium box office and all metro area Hy-Vee Stores. Please note all area Hy-Vee Stores will not be selling Opening Day tickets but will be selling tickets for the other 80 Royals home games.

Season ticket packages including the Buy Two, Get Two Free plan and the new 13-game plans are currently available online at royals.com and by calling (816) 504-4040. Fans can also guarantee themselves Opening Day tickets by purchasing a 21-game season ticket plan starting at just $168 per seat.
