Senator Ted Kennedy On Senate Economic Stimulus Package
February 6, 2008 -- WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in response to the Republican filibuster of the Senate stimulus package.
“Today, Republicans blocked a needed stimulus package that would have brought help to millions of Americans struggling to survive this economic crisis. Blocking this package means denying needed help for millions of Americans struggling to find a job or heat their homes.
It means turning our back on the seniors and countless veterans who have sacrificed so much to make this country great. This battle is far from over. We need to keep fighting to pass these needed measures to help those who are suffering and put our economy back on track.”
