17 Arizona Diamondbacks Players Scheduled to Appear at Saturday's FanFest at Chase Field
D-backs to unveil 10th anniversary celebration plans at event
02/05/2008, PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today the list of 17 players scheduled to participate in the organization's annual Fan Fest this Saturday on the Gila River Casinos Plaza and main concourse of Chase Field. Fan Fest is free for the public to attend and includes D-backs autograph and photograph sessions, live interviews and question-and-answer seminars, memorabilia and sports card sales, and other interactive opportunities with current players, coaches and broadcasters from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Scheduled to appear on Saturday are players Stephen Drew, Robby Hammock, Orlando Hudson, Conor Jackson, Miguel Montero, Bill Murphy, Dustin Nippert, Augie Ojeda, Micah Owings, Mark Reynolds, Jeff Salazar, Max Scherzer, Doug Slaten, Chris Snyder, Chad Tracy, Justin Upton and Chris Young. Manager Bob Melvin and coaches Chip Hale, Lee Tinsley and Glenn Sherlock are also scheduled to appear. The players and coaches, who are subject to change, will participate in autograph sessions that require a $5 donation to the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation. Players and coaches will also participate in 30-minute photo sessions, live interviews, question-and-answer seminars and various other activities. Broadcasters Daron Sutton, Mark Grace, Greg Schulte, Tom Candiotti, Jeff Munn, Miguel Quintana and Richard Saenz will also be on hand to interact with fans.
Sports 620 KTAR will broadcast live and offer fans a chance to participate in question-and-answer sessions with players and broadcasters. Fans will be able to call their own plays in the KTAR "You Make the Call" play-by-play booth and pose for pictures on the FSN Arizona "Diamondbacks Live" television set.
The team will also unveil its 10th Anniversary logo, which will be featured on this year's uniforms, as well as plans for the 10th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, April 11- 13, at 11 a.m. on the third base dugout.
Other D-backs Fan Fest highlights include:
* D-backs clubhouse and dugout tours
* Family Fun Zone featuring D-backs Training Centers wiffle ball fields by Rhino Sports, interactive pitching experience by Cornerstone Production, MOJO pitching cage, U.S. Army Rock Climbing Wall and interactive inflatables by Planet Bounce.
* Sports card and memorabilia show presented by Free Agent Sports Marketing, Inc.
* Appearances by D. Baxter the Bobcat, organist Bobby Freeman, in-game entertainment hosts Mike and Vanessa and the Rally-backs entertainment crew.
* Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation "Yard Sale" featuring D-backs and baseball memorabilia and charity charm sales.
* MLB.com booth to assist fans with online navigation of dbacks.com and losdbacks.com
* Partner Pavilion featuring Arizona Milk Producers, Arizona Republic, Chase, Checker Auto Parts, Cold Stone Creamery, Discount Tire, Dreyer's, Fry's, Geico, Gila River Casinos, Arizona Lottery, Pepsi, Peter Piper Pizza, Poore Brothers, Qwest, Riviera Pools, West Coast Turf
Fans can also purchase season tickets during the event through a Select-A-Seat program, which will highlight all available seats for the upcoming season in the lower bowl of the ballpark.
