Mike Huckabee: Mike Huckabee Announces the Endorsement of Former Governor of Montana Judy Martz
February 03, 2008 -- Little Rock, AR – Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee announced the endorsement of former Governor of Montana Judy Martz.
“I knew Mike Huckabee when we served together as governors,” said Martz. “I support Mike because he is a true principled conservative. He is very intelligent and a great leader.”
“I am delighted to receive the support of former Governor Martz,” Huckabee said. “As the first female governor of Montana, Governor Martz was a consistent advocate of social improvement and fiscal conservatism, and it is an honor to receive her endorsement.”
“As Governor, I made it my highest priority to retain and create good paying job opportunities for all Montanans, addressing appropriate tax reform policies in the state, and improving the education funding system for Montana’s public schools,” commented Martz. “Mike Huckabee tackled these issues head-on as Governor of Arkansas and would continue to do so as President. I urge all conservatives to join me in voting for Mike Huckabee on Super Tuesday.”
Martz first became actively involved in local and statewide economic development issues as a small business owner in Butte for over thirty years. She has served as President of the Butte Chamber of Commerce and vice-chair of the St. James Hospital Board of Directors. Martz became Montana’s first female Lieutenant Governor in 1996 and was elected as the state’s first female Governor in 2000.
