Colorado Rockies Announce 2008 Television Schedule
01/30/2008, DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies and FSN Rocky Mountain have announced the club's television schedule for the 2008 season. There are scheduled to be 150 regular season Rockies games on television this season. Additionally, the network will air eight spring training games and telecast more than 60 regular season games in HD. The club is also scheduled to appear four times on Fox Saturday broadcasts, KDVR 31 locally, along with an appearance on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball on July 13 at the New York Mets.
"We are looking forward to another exciting year of Rockies baseball on FSN Rocky Mountain," Greg Feasel, Rockies Senior Vice President of Business Operations said. "We believe the broadcasts of the games and surrounding baseball programming have the ability to grow baseball in Colorado and connect the players and team to our fans. No one does that better than FSN Rocky Mountain."
"After their dramatic National League Championship win last season, we are anticipating an even higher level of interest in Rockies baseball this season," said Tim Griggs, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of FSN Rocky Mountain. "Our extensive game and programming coverage from Tucson will be a great way to kick off the 2008 campaign."
Once again in 2008, Rockies games will be broadcast on FSN Rocky Mountain and KTVD, my20 in Denver. The breakdown will have 126 games on FSN Rocky Mountain with the remaining 24 contests on my20. While most my20 broadcasts will fall on Sundays, the network is slated to feature four Saturday games in September.
All eight Spring Training telecasts will air live with weekday games re-airing at 7 p.m. that evening. The first Cactus League telecast will be the Thursday, March 16 vs. the Padres at 2 p.m. MT. Details of the HD broadcasts will be distributed at a later date.
