Arizona Diamondbacks to Sponsor PGA Tour Rookie Chez Reavie during FBR Open

01/30/2008, PHOENIX -- The 2007 National League West Division Champion Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that they will sponsor PGA Tour rookie Chez Reavie during this week's FBR Open at TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz. Reavie will wear the D-backs' "A" logo on his Quagmire Golf shirts during the tournament this week.
"We are thrilled to have Chez wear the D-backs logo on his shirt during play in the FBR Open this week," said D-backs' President Derrick Hall. "Since Chez has a strong local following by having attended Arizona State University and the crowds at the FBR Open are the largest on the PGA Tour, having our logo featured on his shirt this week is another way for us to extend our brand to loyal fans who follow golf."
Reavie, a Nationwide Tour graduate, is the highest-ranked rookie at 25th place this season with 1,045 FedEx Cup points. He made the cut in two out of three tournaments so far this year, including tying for 32nd place at the Sony Open in Hawaii and a career-best share of fifth place at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
"I've been following the D-backs since they first started playing baseball in the desert back in 1998," Reavie said. "I am honored to be partnering with such a great organization."
The Scottsdale resident won the 2001 U.S. Public Links during his three-time All-America career at ASU. He joined the Nationwide Tour in 2006, made the cut in his first 15 starts and finished in the Top 25 on eight occasions. After five placements of 13th or better in his first 12 events last season, Reavie won the Knoxville Open and assured himself of joining the PGA Tour this year.
The D-backs unveiled new uniforms and logos featuring new colors prior to the 2007 season. The new color palette of Sedona Red, Sonoran Sand and black replaces the color scheme of turquoise, copper, black and purple used since the franchise was first awarded in 1995. The club's new home white uniforms feature new script lettering, with "D-backs" in Sedona Red with black and Sonoran Sand trim. The new road grey uniforms include updated "Arizona" lettering in Sedona Red. Alternate jerseys are black with the customary "A" logo in Sedona Red and a Sedona Red jersey with the "D-backs" script in Sonoran Sand with black trim.
