Florida State Representative Kevin Ambler Endorses John McCain for President
January 28, 2008 -- ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Florida State Representative Kevin Ambler has endorsed John McCain for president.
"On this eve of one of the most important primary contests in America and after much deliberation and careful evaluation, I am proud to endorse Senator McCain, a genuine American hero who is the right person at the right time to serve as our next leader and defender of the free world," said Representative Ambler. "My decision was strongly influenced by Senator McCain's unmatched resume reflecting his breadth and depth of experience, which is tailor made for President of the United States."
"His integrity, relevant experience, no nonsense candor, and servant's heart are the "Right Stuff" we need to guide us through these turbulent times, to restore our faith in the American political system, and to renew our confidence that the safety and security of the American people and our borders will remain our number one priority," Representative Ambler said.
John McCain thanked Representative Ambler saying, "Kevin is a well-respected leader in the Florida House of Representatives. He is a dedicated public servant and family man. I am thankful to have his support."
First elected in 2002 to the Florida House of Representatives, Representative Ambler is now in his third term representing most of Northwest Hillsborough County. He currently serves as the Chair of the Joint Legislative Sunset Committee. He also serves on the Policy and Budget Counsel, the Courts Committee, the Utilities and Telecommunications Committee, Education Innovation and Career Preparation Committee, and the Select Committee on Condominiums and Home Owners Associations.
Representative Ambler had a distinguished 22 year military career and was named in 1991 as the Most Outstanding Reserve Judge Advocate of the Year in the U.S. Air Force. He has also received two Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Force Achievement Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He has been married for almost 24 years to his wife Mindy, who he met when they both attended Cornell University.
