WFAN to Broadcast Close to 90 Hours of Live Programming from Super Bowl XLII

01.25.2008 -- With coverage leading up to, during and after Super Bowl XLII, WFAN Sports Radio 660 AM most notable personalities will take listeners LIVE to Arizona, where the New York Giants will take on the New England Patriots. Beginning on Sunday, Jan. 27, WFAN's Mike and the Mad Dog, Boomer & Carton, and Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts, among others will offer up-to-date coverage including player and coach interviews, live press conference coverage, game analysis plus breaking news reports.

Live coverage of Super Bowl XLII featuring the Giants and the Patriots will be broadcast on Sunday, Feb. 3. Extended pregame coverage will begin at 9AM, ET with Mike Francesa and the NFL Now followed by the station's midday show Benigno and Roberts from 11AM-2PM, ET and a special Mike & the Mad Dog Show from 2-5PM, ET. Chris Carlin will then be joined by Dave Jennings at 5PM for the latest information prior to kickoff at 6:30PM, ET. Bob Papa, Carl Banks, Dick Lynch and Howard Cross will provide all the play by play followed by a two hour post-game show hosted by Carlin and Jennings.

In conjunction with the special on-air coverage, the station will also program a variety of specials for their website (www.wfan.com) offering fans the opportunity to:

* "Create a Call," which allows listeners to make an audio call of a predicted play that will take place during the Super Bowl, with winning listener submissions played as a montage on WFAN;
* Make predictions on the outcome of the Super Bowl game, with the correct or closest listeners winning an autographed Giants football;
* "Sound Off" with other fans and rivals in the form of a personalized, Voki speaking avatar where listeners can rant and rave about the Giants and Patriots, and users can vote on which character they like best,
* Listen to a Steve Somers webcast on the site on Jan. 28, 29, 30 and Feb. 1 from 7-8pm each night on www.wfan2.com;
* Interact and chat with Rich Ackerman and Jerry Recco from Jan. 28 -Feb. 1, 8-9PM, and Marc Malusis on Feb. 3 during the game in "Super Bowl" chat rooms;
* Engage in blogging- Chris Carlin's text and video blogs, and Jerry Recco and Richard Ackerman's audio blog, recapping Giants and Patriots news from the day.
