Statement By Florida Governor Charlie Crist Regarding Farm To Fuel Grants And E10
January 22, 2008 -- “I applaud Commissioner Bronson for recognizing Florida’s potential to be a leader in ethanol and other biofuels. The Farm to Fuel grants announced today will help make that potential a reality. Florida is already a top agriculture state, and now, our sugar, citrus, and forestry can also make us a national leader in developing alternative fuels such as ethanol.
“I commend Commissioner Bronson for his efforts to make E10 available at the pump. All cars sold in the United States can use E10 – in fact many manufacturers recommend its use. Our businesses, leaders and people understand as I do, that Florida’s natural beauty is linked to our economy. Many Floridians are interested in reducing their carbon emissions, and making E10 available at the pump will give more people the opportunity to choose ethanol.”
