Leading French tour production, promotion and booking company joins Warner Music family

01/19/08 -- Warner Music France today announced the acquisition of Jean-Claude Camus Productions, France’s leading tour production, promotion and booking company. This groundbreaking agreement brings together Camus Productions’ unrivalled experience in staging live events with Warner Music’s world-class roster of local and international artists. The partnership will extend the range of services available to acts signed to Warner Music France as well as those represented by Camus Productions, reinforcing the company’s ability to support a wide range of artists across all areas of their career.

Since 1957, Jean-Claude Camus, an icon of French artistic production, has produced and promoted numerous French-speaking artists such as Sheila, Johnny Hallyday, Patrick Bruel, Michel Sardou, Anggun, Roland Magdane, Florent Pagny, Alain Bashung, Lara Fabian, Chimène Badi, Michel Fugain, Jean-Michel Jarre and Mimie Mathy. He has staged concerts in France for many International artists, such as Bob Marley, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Police, Frank Zappa, Prince, Toto and the Rolling Stones as well as Musicals such as “Starmania”. Since 2005, many artists have joined the Camus stable including Christophe Maé, Christophe Wilhelm, and Emmanuel Moire. Forthcoming events from Camus Productions include a Johnny Hallyday tour in 2009 and the new musical show “Cleopatra” from Kamel Ouali.

Camus Productions will remain largely autonomous in its operational management and will continue to be led by Jean-Claude Camus. The division will work closely with each of the labels in the Warner Music France group.

This agreement is a logical progression of the cooperation that already exists between Warner Music France and Jean-Claude Camus, which began during Johnny Hallyday’s last tour and continued with recent tour co-productions for Christophe Maé and Emmanuel Moire that are currently underway.

Jean-Claude Camus said: “When Thierry proposed this agreement, I immediately appreciated the good fit of our two businesses and that working together could further the interests of artists, particularly their artistic interests. We now follow a global policy for the development and career assistance of our artists, which Warner Music shares and we rely on their vision and know-how.”

Thierry Chassagne, President, Warner Music France commented: “I am delighted to have the chance to work with one of the most legendary tour producers in the music world. We share the same vision of our business with Jean-Claude, which is to create the best environment for the artist in order to maximize the public’s enjoyment. We want to offer our artists the skills and professionalism of Jean-Claude’s people so that we can assist them in achieving their artistic goals. Jean-Claude Camus Productions will continue to enjoy a large degree of autonomy in the management of its own development, which is a sign of its undoubted savoir-faire. Naturally Jean-Claude will continue to nurture and bring on artists outside of Warner Music France, as before.”

This is the latest in a series of moves from Warner Music France designed to expand and diversify the menu of opportunities the company can deliver for its artists. In 2007, Warner Music France 360°, was created, a new division of the company that oversees licensing, merchandising, synchronization, video content, digital and interactive support, live, sponsorship and brand partnerships.
