Online Auction Gives Chicago White Sox Fans Early Opportunity to Bid on 2008 Baseball Tickets
First time auction gives fans the change to purchase exclusive individual game tickets
01/21/2008, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox are giving fans an early opportunity this season to bid on premium lower box tickets through an online auction starting Thursday, January 24 at noon on whitesox.com. The select number of tickets to all Prime and Premier games (46 games total) ordinarily have not been available to fans for purchase.
The first-time early auction will feature tickets to Opening Day and games vs. the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox, among other teams.
A limited number of four-ticket sets to Prime and Premier games will be available through the online auction. The opening bid on each set of tickets will be $65 per ticket for Prime games and $80 per ticket for Premier (plus additional processing and service fees).
"This season, all White Sox fans will have an equal chance to purchase tickets to some of the most anticipated games of the year through an online auction," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox vice president and chief marketing officer. "In past years, a number of White Sox fans were unable to purchase tickets to certain games when individual game-tickets went on sale. This year, all fans will get the opportunity to secure premier seats, which ordinarily have not been available, before tickets ever go on sale to the general public."
The online auction concludes on Thursday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. Individual-game tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m.
