Houston Astros Sign Dave Borkowski to One-Year Contract
Right-hander begins his third season with Houston Astros in 2008
01/22/2008, HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros announced today that the club has signed right-handed pitcher Dave Borkowski to a one-year, $800,000 contract, plus incentives. The announcement made by General Manager Ed Wade.
Dave Borkowski, 30, went 5-3 with a 5.15 ERA (41ER/71.2IP) and one save in 64 games for Houston in 2007. In six Major League seasons for Detroit (1999-2001), Baltimore (2004), and the Astros (2006-07), Dave Borkowski owns a career record of 13-18 with one save and a 5.68 ERA (196ER/310.1IP) in 155 career games.
