Team set to travel around South Florida's hot spots on a five-day tour

01/18/2008, MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are set to host the 2008 Broward Health Marlins Caravan from Feb. 4-8. The weeklong celebration will culminate with the Annual Florida Marlins Broward Health FanFest on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Dolphin Stadium.

The 2008 Broward Health Marlins Caravan will include stops that are open to the public in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties starting on Monday, Feb. 4. Marlins fans will have the opportunity to meet Florida Marlins players, coaches, front office executives, Billy The Marlin and Marlins Mermaids at several appearances throughout South Florida. The team will also visit local schools, little leagues, hospitals, non-profit organizations and private groups.

In addition, the Florida Marlins will host a series of marquee events including the BankUnited Florida Marlins Celebrity Golf Classic on Thursday, Feb. 7 and the Fourth Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, Feb. 8. Reservations for the Marlins' official golf tournament will remain open until Monday, Feb. 4 with additional information available by calling (305) 623-6497.

The team will conclude the 2008 Broward Health Caravan with the Annual Florida Marlins Broward Health FanFest on Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dolphin Stadium. For the first time this year, individual game tickets for the 2008 season, including the exhibition games against the New York Yankees, will be available at the stadium's box office, beginning at 10 a.m. The event will include autograph sessions with Marlins players, interactive games for all ages, pressbox and clubhouse tours, town hall meetings and a photo station for an opportunity to take pictures with players, Billy The Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids.
