Cleveland Indians Announce 2008 Promo Schedule

- Single-game baseball tickets go on sale March 1 at 10 a.m. ET
- '08 season-ticket sales up 21 percent

01/21/2008, CLEVELAND -- With Opening Day only 70 days away, tickets sales pacing at a high rate and in anticipation of single-game tickets going on sale Saturday, March 1 at 10 a.m. ET, the Cleveland Indians today announced their 2008 special events and promotional calendar.

As the Cleveland Indians prepare to defend their 2007 American League Central Division crown, Tribe fans have set the tone for the 2008 season by displaying their excitement via a strong offseason of ticket sales.

• Opening Day sold out in nearly three hours
• Season-ticket sales are up 21 percent, eclipsing last year's total season ticket number already
• Sold nearly 3,700 new season-ticket plans just last week alone
• All Diamond Box seats are sold out; Field Box seats close behind
• Group sales are up 27 percent, compared to last year at this time
• The popular Pepsi Six Pack sales have increased nearly 10 percent from this time last year

FRIDAY FIREWORKS
The Cleveland Indians will once again light up the sky every Friday night during the 2008 Major League Baseball season. All FIREWORKS shows will again be synchronized to music. The Tribe's spectacular ROCK N' BLAST expanded fireworks shows fans can't stop talking about from the past two years, will rock the house TWICE on July 11 and July 12 -- including Glow-in-the-Dark Necklaces given away to All Fans on both days. The first Fireworks Show of '08 occurs during Welcome Back Wahoos Weekend on Friday, April 11, following the 7:05pm game vs. Oakland Athletics.

KIDS RULE EVERY SUNDAY ON KIDS FUN DAY
Sunday is always KIDS FUN DAY at Progressive Field. From interactive inflatable games to pregame activities, music and games on the Plaza outside Gate A to the Kids Starting Lineups, families will experience a fun and unforgettable day at Progressive Field this summer. Kids Rule on Sundays, as the entire game experience is for and about kids! Following most Sunday home games, kids are invited to "Run the Bases" at Progressive Field.

To open Kids Fun Days for 2008, the Indians will present KIDS OPENING DAY on Sunday, April 13, including a CHIEF WAHOO BANK to all Kids 14 and under. Kids will have an opportunity to participate in a season-opening event created just for them. Pregame plaza activities and baseball interactive games provide the warm-up, running the bases after the game tops off a special day at the ballpark.
