Oakland A's individual and opening night tickets go on sale

01/21/2008, OAKLAND -- The Oakland Athletics will get an early start on the 2008 season on Saturday, January 26 as the club hosts Oakland A's FanFest 2008 presented by Sports Gallery from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at McAfee Coliseum.

Oakland A's FanFest 2008 admission tickets are priced at $10 and are available in advance until January 26 at the A's Ticket Services Office and online at oaklandathletics.com. On the day of the event, admission tickets will be available beginning at 9:00 am at the Gate D kiosk. Autograph session tickets will be available for purchase online at oaklandathletics.com beginning at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 22. Proceeds will benefit the Oakland A's Community Fund and the fight against childhood obesity.

Oakland A's FanFest 2008 will be the first opportunity for fans to purchase individual game tickets for the upcoming season, including the A's home opener against the Boston Red Sox on April 1. Tickets for all A's home games can also be purchased beginning at 9:00 am at all usual ticket outlets, including McAfee Coliseum Box Office, online at oaklandathletics.com and all Tickets.com outlets, or over the phone by calling (877) 493-BALL. Season, group and luxury suite tickets can be purchased by calling (510) 638-GoA's (4627). Individual game tickets for the 2008 season are priced at $50 (MVP), $40 (Plaza Club), $35 (Field Level), $30 (Field Level Outfield), $30 (Plaza Infield), $24 (Plaza Level), $18 (Plaza Outfield), $13 (Bleachers), and $9 (Plaza Reserved). Individual game tickets for the 2008 Premium Games are priced at $55 (MVP), $45 (Plaza Club), $40 (Field Level), $35 (Field Level Outfield), $35 (Plaza Infield), $28 (Plaza Level), $20 (Plaza Outfield), $15 (Bleachers), and $10 (Plaza Reserved). Premium games consist of all regular season games vs. Boston, New York, and San Francisco.

Oakland A's FanFest 2008 activities include autograph and photo sessions with current A's players, photo opportunity with A's Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers and his Cooperstown plaque; photo opportunities with the A's World Series trophies; question and answer sessions with A's players, coaches and front office staff; "Baseball: 101", a clinic hosted by A's management, coaches and players that will teach fans the fundamentals of the game; the opportunity to hit in A's batting cage under the tutelage of A's coaches and players; a behind the scenes tour of the A's clubhouse, weight room, umpire's room and home dugout; a special Cooperstown Hall of Fame exhibit; a tour of the TV36 production truck; the sale of over 500 game worn jerseys from current and former players; music, food and interactive games for children.

Over 20 A's players and coaches are expected to be in attendance for Oakland A's FanFest 2008 including Manager Bob Geren and his coaching staff, along with players Bobby Crosby, Huston Street, Rich Harden, Mark Ellis, Daric Barton, Joe Blanton, Jerry Blevins, Dallas Braden, Andrew Brown, Rob Bowen, Travis Buck, Jack Cust, Chris Denorfia, Lenny DiNardo, Justin Duchscherer, Alan Embree, Dana Eveland, Chad Gaudin, Jack Hannahan, Dan Johnson, Kevin Melillo, Dan Meyer, Donnie Murphy and Kurt Suzuki among others.

In addition, the A's will be launching a unique health awareness program to help combat childhood obesity at Oakland A's FanFest 2008. The A's Fitness Sluggers Program educates children by implementing healthy eating habits and enjoyable physical activity into their daily routine. Children ages nine through 12 years of age will receive a workbook that contains guidelines on proper nutrition and physical activities as well as an area to log physical activity and food and drink consumption on a daily basis over a four-week period. Each child who completes the program will receive a special certificate of completion and 100 of those children will be chosen to participate in a pre-game clinic with the A's strength and conditioning coach and will be honored in an on-field ceremony on Children's Health and Fitness Awareness Day. A's Fitness Sluggers workbooks are available at the Health and Awareness Area (behind section 139) at Oakland A's FanFest 2008, at the A's Community Fund Silent Auction table (behind section 120) during all weekend home games and online at oaklandathletics.com.
