Statement of Wisconsin Governor Doyle Regarding Brett Favre
January 10, 2008 -- MADISON - Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle released the following statement today regarding rumors of Brett Favre’s potential return to the Green Bay Packers for an 18th season:
“Like all Packer fans, I was excited to hear Brett Favre talking about returning to action next year for the green and gold. Brett Favre’s tremendous work ethic and willingness to go out and play hard every day represent the true spirit of Wisconsin.
“Favre has had yet another record breaking season and I’m looking forward to this weekend when Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers defeat the Seattle Seahawks and advance to the National Football Conference Championship game.
“I want to thank Brett Favre on behalf of Packer fans everywhere for his commitment to the Packers, Green Bay, and all of Wisconsin.”
