New York, New York, December 21, 2007 -- Louise Burke, Threshold Editions' Executive Vice President and Publisher, announced today the acquisition of the highly-anticipated memoir by Karl Rove, President George W. Bush's former Deputy White House Chief of Staff and pivotal architect of modern conservatism. The deal, which includes world rights, was brokered by Washington, D.C. attorneys Robert B. Barnett and Michael O'Connor.

"All of us at Threshold are thrilled to publish the book from the man who had the President's ear for two terms." said Louise Burke.

Added Mary Matalin, Threshold Editions' Editor in Chief, "Karl was always in a league of his own in the world of electoral politics and he now will literally create a unique genre for historians, policy makers, political junkies and serious readers."

"I'm delighted to have signed on with a wonderful publisher that has great enthusiasm for this book." said Karl Rove, "Now I look forward to writing about my role in George W. Bush's campaigns and in his consequential and contentious Presidency. The book will be a candid, careful look at how he got there and what his Administration did once in office. It will tackle and shed light on important events and big controversies, spell out their implications for America and set the record straight."

Threshold Editions is an imprint of Simon & Schuster. Recent successes include
AN INCONVENIENT BOOK by Glenn Beck, which debuted at #1 on The New York Times bestseller list, and SURRENDER IS NOT AN OPTION by John Bolton, which was also a New York Times bestseller.
