Secretary Chertoff Promises Fernley Aid to Senator Reid
January 8, 2008 -- Reno, NV – U.S. Senator Harry Reid of Nevada issued the following statement after receiving a personal phone call from the Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, promising that the people of Fernley will get everything they need.
“I greatly appreciate Secretary Chertoff taking the time to personally call me and promise that the people of Fernley will get everything they need in the wake of the levee break,” said Reid. “I will continue to work with the Nevada Congressional Delegation, Governor Gibbons, federal and state officials to ensure that we can get these people back into their homes as quickly as possible.”
