"Happy U Year," Disney Channel's First-Ever Viewer-Generated Programming Event, Rings in the New Year

BURBANK, December 20, 2007 -- Disney Channel's young viewers take over one of the network's most popular annual programming events, New Year's Eve, with the presentation of "Happy U Year" featuring viewer-generated content including music videos, shout-outs and New Year's Eve countdowns, submitted via DisneyChannel.com. The programming event will be seen DECEMBER 31 (3:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m., ET/PT) and JANUARY 1 (12:00 noon-10:30 p.m., ET/PT). Appearances by favorite Disney Channel stars and results of a DisneyChannel.com poll where online users voted for their favorite episodes and movies of 2007 will also be presented.

Over 13,000 videos have been uploaded by viewers to www.DisneyChannel.com/HappyUYear and over 58,000 participants phoned in their messages and shout outs for on-air consideration thus far.

Nearly 15 million online votes were cast for the year's favorite Disney Channel episodes and movies.

DisneyChannel.com users can continue to submit videos and shout-outs through December 30 to be considered for presentation online.

Disney Channel stars who contributed videos and messages for the programming event include Monique Coleman, Olesya Rulin, Chris Warren Jr. and Kaycee Stroh (of "High School Musical"); Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, Moises Arias and Jason Earles (of "Hannah Montana"); Kyle Massey, Jason Dolley, Madison Pettis and Maiara Walsh (of "Cory in the House"); Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin and Jennifer Stone (of "Wizards of Waverly Place"); Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan and Kiely Williams (of "The Cheetah Girls"); Phill Lewis (of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody"); Demi Lovato (of "As The Bell Rings" and the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Camp Rock"); Meghan Martin and Anna Marie Perez (of "Camp Rock"); and Alyson Stoner (of the upcoming animated series "Phineas and Ferb" and "Camp Rock").

For 2007, Disney Channel is on track to be #1 in primetime for the 5th consecutive year among Kids 6-11 and #1 for the 7th consecutive year among Tweens 9-14. Its website, DisneyChannel.com, is the #1 entertainment website for Kids age 6-14.
