Multicounty Oklahoma Grand Jury Returns December Indictment, Issues Report
12/19/2007 -- Oklahoma’s Multicounty Grand Jury adjourned from its December session today after issuing one sealed indictment and a report, Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson said.
The indictment will be unsealed in Oklahoma County District Court at 9 a.m., Dec. 21 before Judge Kenneth Watson. That indictment names one person on 13 counts.
The report informs the court that Davey Joe Sutton, who was indicted in October for conspiracy against the state, has a previous felony conviction for witness intimidation. The report will be filed in Atoka County District Court where Sutton currently faces trial on the October indictment. Sutton, the former director at Kiamichi Technical Center, was indicted as part of the grand jury’s ongoing investigation into alleged illegal activities by school employees and a board member.
Edmondson’s office administers the Multicounty Grand Jury which is scheduled to reconvene Jan. 8.
