A two-time Grammy winner and a double nominee this year, Underwood recently debuted her new album, "Carnival Ride," at #1, selling over half a million copies in the first week. It immediately became the best-selling debut of any female artist in 2007 to that time, earning the highest debut-week sales of any sophomore country album in over a decade. The "American Idol" 2005 champion, Underwood is the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. In addition to her two Grammys, she has garnered four CMA Awards, five ACM Awards, four American Music Awards, 8 eight Billboard Music Awards, four CMT Awards and two People's Choice Awards.
Multi-talented 15-year-old Miley Cyrus has captivated kids and families on Disney Channel's smash hit comedy "Hannah Montana." Last year her triple-Platinum "Hannah Montana" soundtrack became the first TV soundtrack to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and Miley became the youngest artist to have two #1 hits in less than a year. In 2007 she followed that record with a two-disc set that reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and has earned double-Platinum status. She is currently on a sold out concert tour. In February a one-week 3D film engagement of that concert will be presented in theaters around the country.
Jonas Brothers' self-titled Hollywood Records debut was released this summer and is already Platinum. The band is currently on a sold-out arena tour, and they're recording a new album on a specially outfitted tour bus. Their single, "S.O.S.," shot immediately to the # 1 spot on iTunes. Their CD was the first release in the CD-VU+ format, a multi-media and 100% recyclable package.
