Maria Faillace Named Senior Vice President of Production, CBS Films
12.11.2007 -- Maria Faillace has been named Senior Vice President of Production, CBS Films, it was announced today by Amy Baer, President and Chief Executive Officer of the new film division within CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A).
In this new position, Faillace will be responsible for supervising the development and production of films, as well as with identifying new creative material for the studio. Faillace will report directly into Baer. She comes to CBS from Fox 2000 where she held various positions, including vice president of production, during her nearly eight years with the company.

During her time at Fox 2000, Faillace supervised all aspects of production for various movies including: FEVER PITCH, based on the novel by Nick Hornby and directed by the Farrelly Brothers, starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon, ROLL BOUNCE starring Bow Wow and Nick Cannon, directed by Malcolm Lee and the upcoming Sandra Bullock comedy, ALL ABOUT STEVE. Other films she has worked on included IN HER SHOES starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, Shirley MacLaine, directed by Curtis Hanson, HIDE & SEEK starring Robert DeNiro, Dakota Fanning, directed by John Polson and CATCH THAT KID & CHASING PAPI.
Prior to Fox 2000, Faillace was with Mireille Soria/Blue Peach Productions at Fox Family Films. While there, the company produced EVER AFTER starring Drew Barrymore. Faillace is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.
CBS Corporation announced the formation of CBS Films in March 2007 along with the hiring of Bruce Tobey as Chief Operating Officer. Six months later, it was announced that Baer would serve as the head of the division that plans to develop and produce four to six movies a year, spanning all genres with production budgets up to $50 million per film. The films will be released domestically through a U.S. theatrical distribution unit to be established within CBS Films.
