DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Spc. Melvin L. Henley Jr., 26, of Jackson, Mississippi
November 23, 2007 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Melvin L. Henley Jr., 26, of Jackson, Mississippi, died at Camp Striker in Baghdad on Nov. 21 of injuries suffered from non-combat related incident.
He was assigned to the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
The incident is under investigation.
