Connecticut AG Applauds NLRB Denial Of Stay For Foxwoods Union Election, Rejection Of Appeal
November 21, 2007 -- "This ruling is major victory for worker rights, clearing the way for Saturday's union election and affirming the NLRB's jurisdiction over tribal casinos. The NLRB rightly rejected Foxwoods' desperate, last ditch attempt to delay this vital unionization vote, as well as its baseless and bogus claim that federal labor laws do not apply.
"Foxwoods should end its intransigence and accept reality: federal labor laws apply. Further resistance is futile, as well as unfair to Foxwoods employees and their families. I urge Foxwoods to respect Saturday's election results and negotiate in good faith if its dealers exercise their clear and indisputable legal right to form a union."
