Connecticut Attorney General Blasts Foxwoods For Seeking Delay Of Union Vote
Will Urge NLRB To Reject Request
November 19, 2007 -- "I urge the NRLB to reject Foxwoods' abrupt and appalling attempt to deny Foxwoods dealers their long-scheduled and eagerly anticipated unionization vote. Foxwoods' eleventh hour demand for a delay of Saturday's election is unfair and unconscionable. Management could have requested this stay weeks ago, instead of throwing up a last minute roadblock.
"What does Foxwoods fear? Foxwoods should let its dealers stand up and be counted. The casino should withdraw its request for a stay and allow the election to go forward this Saturday as scheduled.
"Foxwoods dealers have a clear right under federal law -- recognized by the NLRB and confirmed by the courts-- to vote on forming a bargaining unit. Foxwoods should step away from the polling station door and let its employees vote. I will fight to force Foxwoods to allow this election to go forward as scheduled."
