VH1 Classic Premieres Led Zeppelin's Digitally Remastered Concert Film 'The Song Remains The Same' Monday, Nov. 19
Nine Live Led Zeppelin Performances Will Be Available Online At VH1Classic.com
NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In support of Led Zeppelin's re-release of "The Song Remains The Same" VH1 Classic will premiere the digitally remastered version of the concert film on Monday, November 19 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. The film features legendary English rock band Led Zeppelin during three nights of concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1973 during the group's North American Tour.
Throughout the two-hour special, band members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones can be seen performing "Rock And Roll," "Dazed And Confused," "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love."
On VH1Classic.com, fans can watch nine live Led Zeppelin performances from "Mothership" including "Misty Mountain Hop," "Immigrant Song," "Whole Lotta Love" and "Kashmir." Warner Home Video's newly remastered and remixed DVD for "The Song Remains the Same" will be released on Tuesday, November 20 as both a 2-disc Special Edition and a Collector's Edition. Originally released theatrically in 1976, the DVD now features all 16 performances from the 1973 MSG concerts together for the first time including the 'never-before-released' "Over The Hills and Far Away" and "Celebration Day (Cutting Copy)" in addition to "Misty Mountain Hop" and "The Ocean." The DVD releases also include over 40 minutes of newly added features with the original theatrical trailer, vintage TV footage, exclusive Led Zeppelin T-shirt and much more.
Atlantic/Rhino Entertainment has also given "The Song Remains The Same" soundtrack the deluxe reissue treatment, with the band members overseeing the remixing and remastering of the original release. The new version of the soundtrack will also be available November 20 and includes six songs that were not on the original release -- "Black Dog," "Over The Hills And Far Away," "Misty Mountain Hop," "Since I've Been Loving You," "The Ocean," and "Heartbreaker."
