11/13/2007, SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Giants will play an exhibition contest against their triple-A affiliate, the Fresno Grizzlies, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, the club announced today. Time of the game is yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date.

"Our organization is very proud of our affiliation with the Grizzlies and we look forward to giving Fresno an up close and personal look at the 2008 big league club," said Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean. "This game is a great way to give back to a community that has helped foster future Giants for so long."

Fresno, which has been the Giants top affiliate since 1998, posted a 77-67 ledger in 2007 for the franchise's best record since the inaugural 1998 Grizzlies club went 81-62. In fact, manager Dan Rohn's crew posted Fresno's first winning season since 1999.

The Giants have 24 players currently on their roster of 35 who have played with the Grizzlies during their career, including pitchers Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum, Noah Lowry, infielders Kevin Frandsen, Dan Ortmeier and outfielders Fred Lewis and Nate Schierholtz.

San Francisco will announce its full Cactus League schedule next week.
