IBAF Unveils New Website

Online changes part of International Baseball Federation's new, dynamic direction

11/09/2007, LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- As part of its continued efforts to grow the game of baseball globally, the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) has introduced a new online identity - IBAF.TV.

A significant upgrade from its previous web presence, IBAF.TV offers fans of international baseball a forum in which to explore the history of the sport while also illustrating the international federation's plan for the future of baseball - "to make the sport a great world game."

The unveiling of the new website was timed to coincide with the kickoff of the 37th IBAF Baseball World Cup (BWC), being held in Taiwan. At a pre-tournament press conference, IBAF President Harvey Schiller discussed his excitement with the new direction in which the IBAF continues to head.

"This year marks a new direction for our sport," Schiller said.

"We have new logos and new identifications but our goal is straightforward: to return our sport to the Olympic program following the Games in Beijing."

Designed in partnership with New York marketing communications agency Athorn, Clark & Partners, Inc., IBAF.TV is a clear step toward that goal. Schiller said that one of his first plans of action upon taking the role as President of the IBAF was to make his organization's website more welcoming and user-friendly.

"Your website is the face of your business not only within the online community, but also to the rest of the world. It was important to us to make sure that IBAF.TV reflected the positive change within the IBAF and that it helped further the education of baseball throughout the world as well."

Formerly found at BASEBALL.CH (this domain name is still active, and will redirect users to the new site), IBAF.TV will offer scoring updates, pictures and live streaming video coverage of 41 BWC games through Stadeo TV.
