The Oprah Winfrey Show Hosts Largest-Ever Gathering of the Osmond Family on Television on Friday, Nov. 9

THURSDAY, November 8, 2007, Chicago, IL -- For 50 years, America has loved this family — the legendary Osmond brothers. Along with siblings Donny and Marie, they have captured the public's attention like no other family. And now, on Friday November 9, television history will be made when more than 100 Osmonds join together on The Oprah Show stage for a once-in-a-lifetime reunion.

The unprecedented gathering will serve as both a celebration of one of Hollywood's most esteemed and enduring families, and a tribute to family patriarch George, who passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, November 7. During the hour, the Osmonds will honor the legacy of their beloved father, who left nine children — Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy — 55 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren.

Discussing her father's passing, Marie tells Oprah, "My dad is my hero. And I will miss that the most because he was my rock. He was my strength." Donny agrees, saying "Isn't it interesting how two people can raise a family in show business, nine children, and we still love each other."

In addition, Marie joins her Dancing with the Stars partner Jonathan for a spin on The Oprah Show stage and talks about what really happened the night she fainted on national television.

During their 50 years in the entertainment industry, The Osmonds have recorded 142 albums, selling over 100 million copies with 51 Gold and Platinum recordings. They have starred in their own television series, specials, documentaries and numerous programs throughout the world. Collectively and individually, they have sold out venues worldwide, breaking box office records, received countless awards and founded the Children's Miracle Network.
