CMA Awards Honor Country Music's Top Talent
08 November 2007 -- Singers Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley won the top prizes at the 41st annual Country Music Association awards in the southern U.S. city of Nashville, Tennessee Wednesday night.
Kenny Chesney took home the biggest prize of the night when he was named Entertainer of the Year. It is the second consecutive win for Chesney, and his third in four years in that category.
Carrie Underwood won her second straight Female Vocalist of the Year award, and also earned the Single of the Year award for her song "Before He Cheats." Brad Paisley was named the best Male Vocalist of the Year.
"Give It Away," a hit for singer George Strait, won Song of the Year honors for its songwriters - Bill Anderson, Buddy Cannon and Jamey Johnson.
George Strait won the Album of the Year for his collection It Just Comes Natural.
Also winning CMA awards Wednesday was the female group Sugarland, who won Vocal Duo of the Year, and Rascal Flatts, who took home the trophy for Vocal Group of the Year.
Seventeen-year-old Taylor Swift won the Horizon Award, which honors promising new artists.
