Connecticut Attorney General Applauds FERC Decision To Rescind Candlewood Lake Shoreline Management Plan
October 29, 2007 -- "I am delighted that FERC has seen the light and rescinded this fatally flawed shoreline management plan. The commission heard and heeded residents and the facts, leading it to correctly conclude that the current plan is unfair and unworkable. While no specific reasons are stated, the commission's action hopefully shows that it will heed concerns about environmental issues such as water levels and ecosystems, and economic impacts in unfair fees and property rights.
"I am hopeful that the commission will continue to hear my concerns -- as well as those of residents who use and enjoy these lakes -- as it reviews any new proposals. I will fight to assure that any future shoreline management plan treats residents fairly and protects the environment.
"What mattered most to this decision is the overwhelming and eloquent expression of community support for our legal campaign against this flawed, unfair plan."
