Los Angeles Dodgers Lend Their Support to California Wildfire Victims
Broadcast partner KCAL9/KCBS2 to aid in effort that will collect monetary donations at Dodger Stadium for the American Red Cross
10/25/2007, LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers and broadcast partner KCAL9/KCBS2 will hold a joint fundraising effort at Dodger Stadium to collect funds for the American Red Cross and aid in the emergency assistance for the hundreds of thousands of Southern California residents affected by the recent wildfires.
The fundraisers will be held at Dodger Stadium tomorrow, Friday, October 26 and Monday, October 29 from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Cash and check donations can be made by driving into Dodger Stadium's Sunset Avenue Gate located at the intersection of Stadium Way and Elysian Park Avenue. Those wishing to donate to the cause will be able to line up starting at 4:30 a.m.
"Our hearts go out to the victims of these devastating fires and the firefighters who are valiantly battling the blazes," said Dodger Owner and Chairman Frank McCourt. "We want to lend our support to the relief effort by providing a location for the community to donate funds to the American Red Cross."
